Hi,
Recap of Sunday's Chapter Leadership Info Meeting

Thank you to those who joined the chapter leadership info meeting Sunday. It was super fun! We opened with worship and prayer, followed by a presentation on the chapter, and ended in fellowship.
Here is the presentation used at the meeting.

We talked about the chapter being the hands and feet of Jesus. I think this really captures the heart of what TPUSA wants to do with the Communities program. We can get so worried and wrapped up in what's going on in DC that we forget to get to know our own neighbors. We know every detail about the mayor of New York City but don't know our own city council. We get concerned about every disaster around the world, but when something happens here, are we ready to serve?
Let's change this. Let's serve. Let's let our lights shine!
Another reflection after chatting with Sarah: Since this is the families group, I want most chapter activities to be family-friendly and not require time away from children. Quite the opposite! Adults should be role models of servant leadership, giving the children opportunities to serve in their own age-appropriate ways.
Finally, I am looking for a few leaders to help build the chapter. Families are probably the busiest of all groups so we can try and keep the time commitment minimal. If I had to guess, ongoing might be an hour or two per month, plus whatever events you participate in. Benefits would be helping shape how we serve our community (with the budget to do so), building up your personal local network, recognition within TPUSA and its network, possible travel stipends to national events, etc. Pray about it and let me know if you're interested!
In any case, any amount of participation is very much appreciated and this is a grassroots effort where everyone has a voice in how to shape the chapter!
